LSU?s Ralston Turner Remains Sidelined

Jan 11, 2011 4:33 PM

LSU won't have leading scorer Ralston Turner back anytime soon.

Turner remained in a walking boot Monday after missing Saturday’s men’s basketball game with a stress reaction in his right foot.

“Ralston’s week-to-week, not day-to-day. He won’t practice this week. I will not put him out there unless he’s 100 percent. We’ll test him whenever our medical people give me the green light. But I’m real gun-shy. It’s going to take a lot for me to say he’s OK to go,” coach Trent Johnson said.

Turner is LSU's top freshman.

Auburn Manages Just Six First-Half Points

Jan 9, 2011 10:21 AM

Auburn has struggled this season, but they hit a new low on Saturday against LSU.

The Tigers managed just two field goals in the first half and trailed 32-6 at the half.

They rallied in the second half, but still lost 62-55.

Auburn committed eight first-half turnovers, missed 22 of 24 shots before halftime and endured a scoreless stretch of more than 10 minutes.

A three-pointer from Kenny Gabriel late in the first half ensured Auburn wouldn't wind up in the record books.

Savannah State set the modern record for fewest points in a half when it got outscored by Kansas State 48-4 in the second half of an 82-25 loss on Jan. 7, 2008.
